Right after Iftar I tuned TV on, I saw a lady jumping, singing, and throwing boxes to the people in front of her sitting impatiently, and I noticed she throw something and two ladies at the same time got hands on it and both of them tried to get it, before I knew the result camera turned. My first thought was like it’s some ‘’ Taqseem-e-Rashin Markiz’’. But no I was wrong absolutely wrong it was none other than our very own MAYA KHAN, very energetically selling Ramzan to the people.
I tried to change the channel but remote didn’t work at first, I hit it to my knee twice and it worked magically.
This is another channel. I saw a man in very fancy Kurta running up on the stairs. and very with a very loud voice said Q Mobile and every one in front of him ‘’the nation with dire need of mobile’’ with one voice replied ‘’Q-Mobile Zinda Bad’’. And I saw some very old ladies raising hands and some chacha’s trying to answer before he ask the Question.
Next moment he asked the question and the man with white beard jumped, jumped like Kamran Akmal behind the wickets. To answer and he finally answered and you know what? Was awarded with the mobile and crowed again shouted ‘’Q-Mobile Zinda Bad’’
Camera turned towards the sitting AAALIMS in front of this big stage.it was part of program where telephonic questions were being answered by the AAALIMS regarding the issues. Host announced there is call, suddenly sitting Aalims moved little bit the tried to adjust their self for the question, because for long they were seeing Neelam Ghar’s latest version live in the studio. the caller introduced herself with Miss sameena from Ghulashan-e-Iqbal. The moment before host start asking question she shouted from phone ‘’Aamir bahi mujay Zara Ahmed ka lawn ka Suit Chaye’’’ Aamir Bahi I need Zara Ahmed’s Lawn suit.

I turned T.V off, bundle of thoughts in my mind, I was thinking about the innocent teacher who told me that Holly month of Ramzan was introduced so the rich can imagine how hard the life is for the poor who can’t afford food.
But today I felt my teacher was wrong and very innocent . because what I have been watching on TV and in news papers. it’s month for poor to get killed little bit more, to see how in a Islamic Republic of Pakistan media is exploiting blameless people on the name of religion to earn their business.
I felt sorry for the innocent teacher who didn’t know that this month is actually for Pakistani media to earn and earn very much by selling their religion on huge stages.
I feel so depressing for the people sitting in the show who were dying to get the gifts.
I feel sad for the Aalims’ sitting in the shows being disrespected by the TV hosts.
But I don’t feel sad for the Media, because they are the reflection of the society I and you live in.
I will not forget the lines. I read earlier in my life that says ‘’there will be time when lot of people will speak, write a lot about the religion but there will be lesser number of people who will follow it’’
Is it the time?
Think twice about it before watching Ramzan Transmissions today and after.
